A note from the owner
I'll be honest with you. It's crazy that I own Cedar Sports. I never worked at a ski shop before I opened my shop. I didn't grow up skiing like most shop owners. The first time I put ski boots on, I was 23 years old and could barely afford the lift ticket to a small ski resort in rural Idaho.
6 years after I went skiing for the first time, I found myself opening my own ski and snowboard shop. I was absolutely clueless about what I was getting into but Cedar Sports has grown consistently despite many challenges and changes in the snow sports industry.
When I look back on the last 8 years, I have to admit that our success has very little to do with me or my ability to run a ski and snowboard shop. I have the good fortune of employing people who are dedicated to making Cedar Sports a better place and I have customers who have shown exceptional loyalty and support. Any success that our shop has seen is due to those two things.

David - Owner
I opened the shop in 2016 without having any idea what I was really getting into. Now I wake up every morning thinking that I have the raddest job in the world. I can easily say that the reason I love running Cedar Sports so much is that I have the best employees and customers that I could ask for. I started working in the outdoor industry as a ski instructor and then spent a decent amount of time guiding various outdoor sports and activities. I love gear, equipment, and apparel. I have way too much of it but I’ll never say no to a good deal on a new pair of skis, a blue jacket, or shoes that make me look as cool as I want everyone to believe that I am.
Teron - Shop Manager
I have been working for Cedar Sports since April of 2019. I was drawn to the shop because I have a long history with the outdoors. Growing up in Southern and Central Utah I spent a lot of time exploring canyons and mountainscapes, that turned into a love for doing anything that put me out in nature. I like to go down things really fast and occasionally go up things not quite as fast, whether that is on skis, snowboarding, bike, or rope it really doesn’t matter to me.
Nate - Retail Manager
I was hired at my first outdoors shop in 2019, when I was living out of my car and rock climbing in the eastern sierra. While working that summer I discovered my passion for helping people find the right gear to reach their goals and best enjoy their outdoor experience. Two years later, I stepped into a pair of skis for the first time and found a whole new world to explore and to master. In my time with Cedar Sports I’ve made a point of pushing myself, both in skill on the slopes and in knowledge of gear, in order to be an expert whose advice you can rely on. My priority is making sure that no matter your needs, your skill level, or your budget, you can walk into our shop and get set up with the right gear for you.
Jason - Service Shop Manager
Any free time I have you'd have the best luck finding me outside whether it's rock climbing, hiking, backpacking, camping, canyoneering, snowboarding, fishing, boating, surfing, or just about anything else. I love to be outside and am always trying to learn new things! Cedar Sports is such a great place to work because I get to share the great outdoors with others while working with some of the coolest people around!
