How Do Our Season Rentals work?

Step 1. Come to Cedar Sports.

Starting on September 1st you can come into Cedar Sports to get ski and snowboard rentals for the whole season. Season rentals are given out on a first-come, first-serve basis so there is no need to make a reservation or pre-register.

Step 2. Choose your package and get fitted.

After filling out some brief paperwork, we will help you find just the right ski or snowboard package and make sure that you are fitted with the correct boot size, and ski/snowboard length. Don't forget to rent a helmet and purchase any needed accessories for the season.

* All renters must be present to get season rentals.

Step 3. Ski, ride, and have fun!

After you have been fitted, your rental equipment is yours for the season. Take it home, store it somewhere safe and dry, and then ski or ride every day you possibly can. Cedar Sports offers free waxes on all-season rentals so make sure to bring your equipment in for a fresh tune-up from time to time to time.

Step 4. Return your equipment.

All equipment must be returned on or before May 1st, 2023. We begin charging a late fee of $10.00 per week after. Charging late fees is our least favorite way to make money at Cedar Sport's so please make sure to bring your gear back on time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the earliest that I can pick up seasonal ski and snowboard Rentals?

Cedar Sports begins renting skis and snowboards for the season on October 1st of each winter season. We send out our best equipment first and we typically sell out of most of our packages before Christmas.

What should I do if my equipment is damaged during the season?

The first thing to do is to stop using the equipment. Trying to ski or ride on damaged boots, bindings, skis, or boards can be extremely dangerous.  The next thing is to contact us and explain the situation. Ultimately, your rental is your responsibility to take care of but if you are honest and upfront with us, we will always do our best to replace or repair your equipment for the lowest price possible.

What happens if my seasonal rental is lost or stolen?

The good news is that this does not happen very often, and when it does, it is usually just a mix-up with equipment that can be easily sorted out. In the rare case that equipment is truly lost or stolen, it is the renter's responsibility to pay for the replacement of the lost or stolen equipment.

When do I need to return my season rental equipment?

The end of ski season at Brian Head is usually in the middle of April. We require season rentals to be returned by May 1st. Late fees will be charged for any equipment returned after May 1st.

Can I exchange my skis, board, or boots for a different size?

Yes, as long as we have the needed size available, we can exchange boots, boards, or skis for a different size.

If I rented a snowboard for the season, can I exchange it for skis?

Yes, as long as we have the needed equipment available, customers can exchange a snowboard for skis one time during the season.

If I rented skis for the season, can I exchange them for a snowboard?

Yes, as long as we have the needed equipment available, customers can exchange skis for a snowboard 1 time during the season.

What is included in my season rental package?

The season rental package includes skis, boots, poles, or board, boots, and bindings. A helmet can be added on for $20.00.

Helpful Hints for Seasonal Rentals

Show up in person to get fitted for skis, boards, and boots.

We highly recommend that each renter shows up in person to be fitted for boards, skis, and boots. If that is not possible, please give us a call before hand.

Bring socks with you to the shop to get fitted.

You will be trying on boots when you arrive at our shop. Wearing the socks that you will be using when skiing will help ensure a good fit.

Take advantage of our free wax and tune program.

We offer free waxes and tune-ups through out the season. Your equipment will work better and your experience will be more enjoyable if you take advantage of this program.

Come in early.

we sell out-of-season rentals every season and we send out the nicest rental equipment first. It is beneficial to come into the shop earlier in the season to ensure good availability and quality equipment.

Plan your visit to our shop.

Filling out paper work, getting fitted for the correct gear, and checking out can take some time. We recommend that you plan on being in our shop for about 15 minutes per person. Saturdays and Friday evenings are typically the busiest times at the shop.

Don't try to put on cold ski boots.

Ski boots are made of plastic. They become stiff and unflexible when they get cold. It is much easier to get them on your feet if you don't.
